100% Home Network Control: Any Onkyo, Integra, or Pioneer AVR with network capability connects directly over your home Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Zero cloud bridges, third-party accounts, or firmware modifications required.
Crucial Setup Step: Enable "Network Standby"

To power ON your receiver from cold standby using ONYX, ensure "Network Standby" (or "IP Control / Fast Boot") is turned ON in your receiver's Hardware Setup menu. This keeps the receiver listening on your home network while the amplifier is asleep.

BEST PRACTICES FOR YOUR SETUP

Optimizing Your Home Theater Network

Follow these quick recommendations for 14 ms response times and bulletproof connection stability.

Direct Local Wi-Fi Connection

ONYX communicates directly over your local Wi-Fi router to your receiver. Commands never bounce through third-party cloud servers or external data centers, ensuring instantaneous volume stepping.

Ethernet vs. 5GHz Wi-Fi

For zero dropped packets, connecting your receiver via an Ethernet cable to your router or mesh node is recommended. If using Wi-Fi, ensure your phone and receiver are connected to the same local subnet without AP isolation.

Multi-Zone Control Parity

All verified models support discrete Zone 2 and Zone 3 power switching, independent volume attenuation, and discrete source routing directly from the ONYX zone drawer or Bilateral Tablet Cockpit.
